Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
can be found in paints,cleaning products, deodorant, etc.
VOCs contibute to ground-level ozone, a common air pollutant.
Currently California, Maine, Maryland, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC have VOC limits for various car care products.
Companies selling non-VOC compliant products and shops caught using
non-VOC compliant products can fines for non-compliance in these states
with VOC regulations.
